Make sure to change your end seals every 10 to 20 repairs or so. Many technicians try to perform 30 or 40 repairs on a single end seal, but those same technicians always seem to be the ones having trouble with their repairs. A worn out end seal can turn performing a routine windshield repair into a nightmare.

The obvious sign of an old end seal is the constantly leaking injector. When your injector is leaking, that means that you are losing much of your pressure on the resin. When pressure is reduced, the repair will take much longer and be much more difficult to completely fill. Other signs of a worn out end seal are the excessive flaring of the seal as it meets the glass, and being able to push the piston all the way down without resin leaking from the end seal.

To maximize the life of your end seals make sure not to over tighten your injector when you are positioning it over the repair, and try not to press your injector more than half way down into the seal. There is no reason to ever push your injector all the way down.

So, if you are having trouble with your injector leaking, or if you are having trouble removing those little stubborn black air pockets from your repairs, make sure you are changing those seals out regularly, it just might make all the difference.
