On January 2007 Delta Kits introduced two new injector mounted UV shields. The UVS200 fits the B200 bridge, and the UVS300 fits the B300 bridge. Both fit all I-100 injectors sold after January 1, 2007, and some I-100 injectors sold in 2006. Both shields are about four inches in diameter, and are shaped to fit the contour of the bridge and vacuum cup. Most windshield repair technicians utilizing Delta Kits techniques will love our new injector mounted UV shields, but there are advantages and disadvantages that should be reviewed prior to purchase.

Advantages of an injector mounted UV shield:
1) Compact size is easier to store, and clean.
2) Very affordable.
3) Clear so you can see the break without moving the shield.
4) Stays on the bridge throughout the repair process.
5) Does not touch the glass, so it does not get resin on it. (As opposed to similar products that are placed directly on the glass.

Disadvantages of an injector mounted UV shield:
1) Not large enough to use for long cracks.
2) Cannot be removed during the repair process. Removal is not necessary using Delta Kits techniques. Those who use a top probing technique should use an over bridged shield to keep the break protected from the sun’s UV rays during the probing process.
