Think Safety! Protecting your skin
Skin is the largest organ in the human body and offers an important protective cover. Your skin is the major route of entry for hazardous substances, and it cannot always protect you against hazards, especially when your skin is over exposed to hazardous or dangerous goods. Chemicals can penetrate into healthy skin and cause damaging skin effects. Also, chemicals in liquid form can be absorbed into the skin, and dusts can also enter into the skin by sweat.
Always remember to wash your hands, keep your tools clean, and properly store your resin. Most important of all, ensure that your windshield repairs are carried out in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet provided by the manufacturer or supplier. Lastly, all technicians should be trained in safe procedures, personal protection and first aid/emergency procedures.

What is New on the Windshield Repair Forum?
Delta Kits, Dispelling Myths, One Video at a Time!
Recently on the forum there was a question raised about using alcohol to clean out and dry out a rock chip. After several posts were made disputing a statement by a Delta Kits representative, Delta Kits decided to settle the dispute once and for all by creating a video showing exactly how Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) reacts when it comes in contact with denatured alcohol. The video proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that alcohol will significantly damage the PVB.
You can view this and several other videos created to address common myths that circulate around the windshield repair industry by visiting www.windshield-repair-forum.com or www.deltakits.com. (body)

The concept of going green is spreading across the world with industries and consumers choosing green options more than ever before. Delta Kits has always been extremely environmentally conscious, and our Windshield Repair Systems and Headlight Restoration Systems are both very environmentally friendly products. Our landfills are stuffed full with discarded windshields and headlights that could have been rejuvenated using Delta Kits products.
In addition, properly repaired windshields and properly restored headlights eliminate costly replacements, enhance the appearance of the vehicle, increase the resale value of the vehicle, and most importantly, provide additional safety to a vehicle’s occupants.

Tech Tip
Maintaining Your Windshield Repair Resin Injector
Properly maintaining your windshield repair resin injector will save you time and money. Delta Kits windshield repair systems require very little maintenance, but cleaning your injector after each repair is absolutely essential.
The process is really quite simple, but must be performed properly and consistently to keep your injector in top working condition, particularly if you are using one of the new Delta Kits I-100 injectors due to its extra tight tolerances. Recommended cleaning procedures are as follows:
1) Separate the piston from the cylinder immediately after use and lock the piston in the vacuum position.
2) Rinse both parts in Denatured Alcohol for a minimum of 30 seconds.
3) Remove the parts from the alcohol and set the piston back to the pressure position.
4) Rinse the piston for an additional 30 seconds.
5) Blow out any residual alcohol that remains in or on the piston and/or cylinder with compressed air.
6) Store piston and cylinder separately in your Delta Kits tool box with the piston in the pressure position. Be sure to keep the lid closed to reduce UV exposure.
Note: The I-100 is longer than the EZK-3 so you will need a 6oz cleaning jar. Order Delta Kits part number JR600, which will also work for your older injectors.
Failure to properly clean your injector voids the lifetime warranty, so please take the extra two minutes to thoroughly clean your injector after each repair performed.

Following in His Footsteps
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. John 13:14-15 (New International Version)
This past month I had a conversation with someone I have known for about 3 years. Typically I see him monthly, although there are instances where I might run into him 2 or even 3 times during the month.
Each time we run into each other we usually have a very pleasant conversation. How’s your wife / husband doing, have you been doing well, any new hobbies, etc. You know what I’m talking about; general chit chat/follow-up type of stuff.
At one point he had indicated he was an accountant. This seemed to fit the picture and I didn’t question it. He said he had his own practice, but that he was cutting back to part-time as he was getting closer to retirement.
This past month when we were again talking he told me he was in “Fire Insurance”. Immediately my ears perked up and I questioned him “I thought you were an accountant?” “Yes” he said to me “I am and I am in fire insurance….Personal Fire Insurance.”
I wonder what the look on my face was when I discovered that he was a 25 year Baptist Minister. Even though he was not shouting to everyone what his profession was, he was showing us through his actions. You see he felt that his actions gave him a way to show people he loved them and wanted to help in any way possible, to be that example. What a wonderful real life example this was to me of the above scripture.
