Around this time every year, we like to give back to the community and to those less fortunate all around the world. All of us at Delta Kits understand the need for helping others, which is why we’re donating $600 to LIFE’s Christmas Shoe Project this December.
Donating is the easy part – the hard part is spreading the word of how you can help those less fortunate. Please take some time to learn more about how you can help.
What is LIFE’s Christmas Shoe Project? In its 10th year of operating, LIFE’s Christmas Shoe Project distributes a low-cost, comfortable, durable, all-terrain shoe that comes in all sizes for children of different ages. The cost to manufacture and deliver each pair of shoes remains at just $3.60, and with an overall project goal of 150,000 pairs, an additional $540,000 above LIFE’s other ministry and mission commitments is needed.
Why is this important? For children living in poverty-stricken and/or underdeveloped nations, their life often depends on scavenging for food and items to sell in garbage dumps by walking over trash and broken glass, risking cuts, infection, and disease. Others must navigate dangerous terrain in search for water sources or cross hot, burning sands in desert regions – all without the protection of shoes. What’s worse is that a small cut on the bottom of a foot can become a gateway for infection or disease to enter their body, and in some case can even cripple a child for life.
It is an unimaginable way of life to us, and Delta Kits is thankful to be able to help those in need and to help spread joy around the world all with a pair of sturdy, durable shoes. We pray that you all have a very Merry Christmas.
