Do you have customers who forget where they got that cracked windshield? Well, maybe it wasn’t supposed to get that bad or even happen in the first place. Windshields are pretty resilient; a rock-chip on your windshield 9 times out of 10 won’t immediately cause a significant crack-out to occur to the point of needing to have your windshield replaced. However, if left unrepaired, the chances of an eventual crack-out greatly increases.
We recently serviced a Toyota Prius that had a rock chip, and once we started working, the chip turned into a crack that we watched run the length of the windshield, and there was nothing we could do to stop it. We’d never seen anything like this before in our collective 50+ years of repairing windshields.
