Expert Q&A: What is the best way to repair damage in the shape of a "Y"?

Question:

What is the best way to repair windshield damage in the shape of a "Y"? Each of the legs are between 4"-6".

Answer:

All repairs should start at the impact point whenever possible. Due to the length of the legs we would recommend you anchor them by drilling just past the end of the crack and creating a mini bullseye. This video demonstrates the process of anchoring. If there is no impact point present we recommend following the steps outlined in this video to repair the damage. In some cases only two legs of the Y will fill so it may be necessary to fill from the drilled end of the one that does not fill or drill another hole at the base of the Y and fill it from there. If you have further questions or need additional technical assistance, please give us a call.
