The Acute Area of a Windshield

Question:

What is considered the acute area of a windshield, and is it illegal to do a repair in that area?

Answer:

According to the ROLAGS, the acute area of a windshield is approximately 8.5 inches high by 11 inches wide directly in front of the drive and beginning just above the center of the steering wheel. It is legal to do a repair in that area. However, many insurance companies discourage it and ROLAGS does not recommend it.
